Arcyn Find
A search engine for AI tools. Describe the job you need done in plain language, and Arcyn Find returns the tools built for it, with their pricing, features and alternatives side by side.
arcynfind.com is free to use and needs no account to search. It is built and run by David Iphy.
Figures are from the live site as of October 2026 and are measured from the catalog, not estimated.
What you can do
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search | Type a task such as "turn a podcast into short clips" rather than a product name. Results come with a short, plain-language reason for each match. |
| Browse | Explore the catalog by category, with filters for pricing and access type. |
| Compare | Put tools side by side to see features, pricing and strengths. |
| Tool pages | In-depth pages for thousands of tools, with what the tool does, who it's for, pricing and alternatives. |
| Collections | Save tools into your own lists and share them. |
| Reviews | Rate and review tools you've used, and read what others think. |
| Weekly digest | An optional email or browser notification that rounds up new and trending tools. |
| Submit a tool | Makers can list their own tool and keep its listing up to date. |
Arcyn Find works on desktop and mobile, can be installed as an app from the browser, and is available in several languages.
How search works
Keyword search fails for AI tools, because people describe the problem and tool makers describe the product. Arcyn Find closes that gap in three steps:
- Understand the request. The query is matched on meaning as well as on words, so "remove background noise from a recording" finds audio-cleanup tools even when they never use that phrase. It also tolerates typos and spacing, and knows tools by their old names after a rebrand.
- Gather candidates. Matching tools are pulled from the catalog, with verified and maker-listed tools ahead of automatically discovered ones.
- Rank and explain. Candidates are ranked on how well they fit the task, their quality signals and their popularity, and each result gets a short explanation of why it was chosen.
Listed tools are checked automatically to confirm they still respond, so dead links drop out of results rather than lingering.
How it was built
Arcyn Find has been rebuilt twice. Each version answered the same question, "which AI tool should I use for this?", at a larger scale than the one before.
A single HTML page
Arcyn Find started as a basic static website: a hand-maintained page of AI tools, grouped by what they do, each linking out to the tool itself. There were no accounts, no database and no real search.
It showed that people wanted one place to look for AI tools. It also showed its own limit: every new tool meant editing the page by hand, and a page can only hold so many before it stops being useful.
The full-stack platform
The second version was rebuilt from scratch as a full web application and launched as v1.0 in November 2025. The tool list moved into a database, and the site gained:
- User accounts, profiles and settings
- Collections for saving tools
- Reviews and ratings
- Following other users
- Search and filtering across the catalog
- A responsive design for phones
Through early 2026 this version kept growing. It moved to its own sign-in system in January, added meaning-based (semantic) search in February, began discovering new tools automatically in April, and replaced simple ranking with a dedicated search engine in May.
Arcyn Find today
The current version, released as v1.2.0 in September 2026 and updated continually since, rebuilt the platform around search quality and reliability:
- A cleaner catalog. Duplicate entries were removed, and the catalog size shown on the site is now measured rather than estimated.
- Better search. Typo tolerance, plain-language reasons on every result, awareness of rebrands, and maker-listed tools ranked ahead of scraped ones.
- A homepage built around search, plus side-by-side comparison and in-depth tool pages.
- Translations of the whole interface, including right-to-left languages.
- A weekly digest by email or browser push, and an installable app.
- Screened submissions. Makers sign in to submit a tool, every submission is reviewed, and makers can update their own listings.
- Automatic upkeep. Daily checks that listed tools are still online, and daily re-categorisation as tools change.
- Safer releases. Every change is built and tested on a preview before it goes live.
